Audi launched sports car R8 at Rs 1.32 crores in India.

German luxury car maker Audi launched "New Audi R8 5.2 FSI" to strengthen its leadership position in the sports car segment. (on Feb 2011) News from Hyderabad)

The car is priced at Rs 1,32,49,000.

Propelled by a powerful V10 quattro engine, and built using the lightweight Audi Space Frame (ASF) design, it has a top speed of 316 km/h.

"The Audi R8 exemplifies our belief in developing world class automobiles for sports car enthusiasts in India. Every Audi R8 is hand-built and demonstrates paramount engineering excellence that is blended with distinct design cues which will enable us to establish new benchmarks in the performance sports car segment," said Audi India head Michael Perschke.

He said the company is focused on strengthening dealer network and is opening of showrooms in Delhi and Ludhiana.

Last year, it opened showrooms in Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur and Bengaluru, he added.
