Honda launched a
refreshed version of the Jazz along with a major price cut. The refreshed Jazz is now up
to 1.62 lakh cheaper than the outgoing
model to win back customers.
The base Jazz now
will available at Rs 5.50 lakh
whereas the earlier model was priced at Rs 7.12 lakh. The mid-level Select
version is priced at Rs 5.75 lakh (Rs 7.24 lakh earlier) and the top-end Jazz X
is priced at Rs 6.06 lakh which was Rs 7.48 lakh for the outgoing model. All
prices ex-showroom, Delhi . Now
with this huge price cut Honda has already in tune with competing the
models of Hyundai i 20, Nissan Micra,
Volkswagen Polo, Maruti swift, Fiat Punto, Toyota liva and Skoda Fabia. The updated Jazz features exterior upgrades
like re-styled bumpers and lights and a new paint shade while interiors get
dual tone (beige and black) shade, a height adjustable driver seat, and power
retractable outside rear view mirrors for the top-end version. USB-interface is
now standard now on all variants. The Jazz Select and Jazz X gain a new feature
for the rear seats that now can be reclined as well.
Honda's price cut comes a day after Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest carmaker, launched a new version of its popular 'Swift' hatchback with starting price of Rs 4.22 lakh. Falling sales has forced some hard decisions on Honda. The carmaker reduced the price of its flagship 'City' by Rs 66,000 a few months ago after Volkswagen's Vento, Maruti's SX4 and the Hyundai's Verna pushed the top-seller to fourth position. Its cumulative sales dropped 26% to 12,526 cars in the April-July period.
